Hi
I had a whole section about etymology, that I was encouraged to cut by my mentor.
But in short, this is it:
Ephippium, as a neotype, retains its former name
Calliris refers to rainbow, as the fish is known as sp. rainbow by aquarists
Daidali from the labyrinth face pattern, as Daidalos created the labyrinth of myth with the minotaur
Heffalumpus from the huge heffalump, ref. Winnie the Pooh, from being known as Giant by aquarists
Paucispinis referring to the number of dorsal spines
Lisachisme is a taxonomic pun from old greek, chis-me being "kiss me" and Lisa being my wife
(an old trick by a british taxonomist known for kissing and telling so to speak)
best regards
